Airports in Middle East and the Indian sub-continent are currently among the fastest growing in the world, with Africa poised to become a more significant player in the airport industry. Oman, due to its strategic location in the Middle East with easy accessibility to both Africa and the Indian sub-continent, has constructed three new airports, as well as completing major expansions of both Muscat and Salalah airports to facilitate projected increases of both air passengers and cargo through this region and provide better connectivity to the rest of the world.
Given the rapid expansion of airports in this part of the world, highly educated and trained airport management professionals who are familiar with both the region and the various cultures that call this place home will be needed to support the development and operation of these critical pieces of transportation infrastructure. The Bachelor of Science program in Airport Management uses internationally accepted courses to prepare students for careers in the management of airports including the areas of airport design, airport finance, and airport operations. In their final year of study, students are expected to serve a two-month internship at an airport, and complete a final capstone project related to their studies.
